R.E.M. to release deluxe box set for “Monster” anniversary
R.E.M. are to release a 6 disc compilation of their 1994 album “Monster” in November for the 25th anniversary of the original release. The deluxe box set will feature the original album, a remixed version, demos, live concerts and a Blu-Ray of the videos and the “Road Movie” concert film.
As part of the announcement, a remixed version of the first single “What’s The Frequency, Kenneth?” has been shared by the band.
“Monster” followed the hugely successful “Automatic For The People”, had a very different, rockier sound and debuted at No. 1 on both sides of the Atlantic but did not match the sales of its predecessor. R.E.M. went on to release six further albums before disbanding in 2011.
