Better Days – Anna Volpe

If you were recently watching HBO’s NFL show “Hard Knocks” you may have heard “Better Days” from singer-songwriter Anna Volpe. It’s an emotive ballad that worked perfectly on the program where it was used following a second preseason loss for the Dallas Cowboys. It has now been released for everyone to listen to and enjoy and we asked Anna how the song came about.

“This song is definitely a quarantine-inspired song. My collaborator and I wrote Better Days in January of this year during the time where there was just so much uncertainty. The co-writing session kind of turned into a therapy session. We both reflected and spoke about our past year, the challenges, and most importantly, all the things we missed so much. Better Days became the song that I knew I needed to hear at that time and I just hope it helps someone else who might be having a hard time too.”

For seven years, Anna Volpe has lent her classically-trained vocal leanings to a swath of bands and soloists both on-stage and in studio. Now, however, the New York native is wearing a new hat as she shifts her focus from offering her voice to others towards highlighting her own explorative music. After several single and EP releases, Anna signed with licensing and publishing company, THINK Music Inc.

Anna’s music sits within the growing genre of indie-pop. She gravitates towards ambient soundscapes combined with modern synth production and emotive, folk lyrics. Her latest single “Better Days” was released on September 7th after its feature on the HBO series, “Hard Knocks.” Over the years, Anna has accumulated over 100k streams and 50k listeners on streaming platforms.
