Easy Art EP – Wes King

Making the decision to leave your band and strike out as a solo artist is never easy, but it seems to be working for Wes King. After the success of singles “Living Strange” and “Loaded Gun” earlier this year, Wes has just released his debut EP “Easy Art”. The 4 new tracks perfectly highlight his songwriting skills and musical diversity; the title track is an all-out indie anthem while “Somebody” sees Wes duetting with vocalist Bea King on a subdued ballad. Wes King was a founding member and the lead singer of the indie rock band Tres Kings, who formed after a late night bar jam in 2018 before he made the difficult decision to step away from the band in 2021. It was no easy choice, having been featured on BBC INTRODUCING, KMTV, and playing festivals like Neverworld and Bearded Theory, and added to the same bill as artists such as Craig David, Tom Grennan, The Vaccines, and Doves, whilst also being one of the first bands to record at the famous Albion Rooms (The Libertines HQ) in Margate in his native Kent.

Striking out on his own, Wes’ solo career has continued to soar as he has constantly explored new forms of musical expression. His debut solo single ‘Living Strange’, with its powerful lyrics, touching vocal delivery and elegant composition, was an instant success, attracting 10,000 listeners in the first month and garnering him a strong online following which has continued to grow with each subsequent music release.  The overnight success of ‘Living Strange’ was quickly followed up by a second single which promised us something different. Wes delivered exactly that; the explosive, hard-hitting ‘Loaded Gun’, which was highly praised as ‘a guitar driven, upbeat summer tune’ (Reyt Good Magazine).

Wes’ music has also caught the attention of Florence and The Machine drummer Chris Hayden, which has led to Wes being booked to perform in London at Lion Coffee Records Store in Clapton on the 16th October. Watch out for further live gig announcements and festival appearances and music releases later this year  – Wes King is an act not to be missed!
