New Single – “Phantom Thumb” – Katrina Weissman
Released last Friday, Phantom Thumb is the wonderful new single and music video from Katrina Weissman. Teaming with LA bands Dark Dazey and Flamango Bay and inspired by Mazzy Star and Julia Jacklin, she couples 90’s dream-pop guitars, violin and lush vocals with nostalgic lyrics about old friends and homesickness. Starting with a gently strummed acoustic and a sliding guitar riff, Katrina’s vocals reflect on recent life changes as the song builds to a memorable chorus.
The song centers on the grief of moving away from home. This nostalgia is captured by 90’s dream-pop guitars, ethereal violin, and passionate, earnest vocals.
