On This Day…1978

Blondie released “Parallel Lines” on September 23rd 1978. Their third album, it received widespread acclaim and has gone on to sell over 20 million copies worldwide. Thanks the popularity of singles such as “Heart of Glass”, “Hanging on the Telephone” and “Sunday Girl”, it was Blondie’s first record to really make a mark in the US, eventually reaching No. 6 in April 1979.
It was remastered and reissued in 2001 and 2008 and still regularly features on “Best of” lists.
