On This Day…2006
The Killers released “Sam’s Town” in the UK on October 2nd 2006 with the US release following a day later. It was the band’s second album and was the follow-up to the hugely successful “Hot Fuss”. It had a more classic rock feel than its predecessor and received some mixed reviews from critics who perhaps wanted more of the same. Over time however, it has gained in popularity and is now generally seen as a classic – it was voted the 11th best album of the decade by Q Magazine.
