Interview with Chappell Roan

This week I got the chance to chat with Chappell Roan, learn more about her, and how her quarantine is going so far.

How are you handling quarantine?
Quite well at the moment. I really enjoy being at home and staying bust without the pressure of having to make plans or leave.

How did you get into music?
I feel like classic Disney movies played such a huge roll in my love for music. I would watch Pocahontas or Ariel and be obsessed with every song in the movie. I took guitar, piano, and vocal lessons when I was younger as well.

Who has influenced your music style?
Mostly Kate Bush, Lady Gaga, Queen, Cyndi Lauper, Annie Lennox, Phill Collins, &  Dua Lipa.

What piece of vinyl would be the star of your collection?
Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. It’s my favorite and makes me cry.

What would go on your signature pizza and what would it be called?
I really love vegetable pizza the most, but I can’t possibly miss the opportunity to call my own pizza Chappellroanie Pepperoni. It’s just too perfect.

What album cover represents your current mood?
Definitely Lady Gaga’s Born This Way album cover where her body is a literal motorcycle because I’m learning to rollerblade and that’s how I feel when I roll around.

Are there artists you would want to collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with Alt-J. I think they’re amazing.

When you make it big, what will be your first extravagant purchase?
Probably a vacation to Canada because I want to move there one day.

Can fans expect more singles or an album out soon?
YES. I’m constantly working on new music, but there is definitely a new song coming in the near future.

Check out our single review of Chappell Roan’s single “Pink Pony Club” and give it and “Love Me Anyway” a listen over on Spotify and Apple Music.
