Sigrid and Ber at Theater of Living Arts in Philadelphia
Norweigian singer-songwriter Sigrid is currently on the US and Canada leg of the “How To Let Go Tour” for her most recent album of the same name. The album was released May 6 and includes the tracks “Mirror” and “Bad Life.” She performed at the Theater of Living Arts in Philadelphia on Sept. 29 as the third stop of this tour.
Minnesota-based artist Ber has joined Sigrid as the opener for all dates on the tour. Accompanied by her guitarist, Landon Conrath, she performed her full current discography. Many of her indie-pop tracks relate to love, relationships and breakups including an unreleased song titled “Ur Internet Sux” (title formatting may change). “Dead Dear (Deer)” has become a new personal favorite by Ber and she closed out her set with her newest single “Boys Who Kiss You In Their Car.”
Sigrid’s band took the stage as a heavy bass played and the back lights flashed. Sigrid made her energetic entrance as the band started to play “It Gets Dark.” A majority of Sigrid’s discography consists of up-beat pop tracks leading to the star jumping and dancing around with the crowd for each song. For “Dynamite” and “Bad Life” the rest of her band exited the stage as Sigrid performed by herself and played the keyboard with a spotlight shone on her. In between songs, Sigrid is great about talking with the audience and even told the story about meeting a fan, who was in the crowd, at Whole Foods earlier in the day. She ended the night with the same high energy she started with performing “Grow,” “Don’t Feel Like Crying” and “Mirror” for the encore.
Sigrid rounds out the rest of her tour with three dates across California, Oakland on Oct. 11, Los Angeles on Oct.12 and San Diego Oct. 13. Keep up with future shows and new releases for Ber and Sigrid via their instagrams.
