Following up on last year’s “Know Enough To Get By” EP, Scotland’s Stuffed Animals are back with a sublime new single on Heavenly Creature Records. “Plain Air” begins with a rapid burst of bass and lead guitars before the tempo abruptly drops to a more thoughtful pace. The vocals describe a back and forth between two people with a sung line receiving a recurring “That’s crazy” retort while the outro to the track has an Americana feel with its acoustic riff. We asked the band about “Plain Air”:
“We wrote this song during the recording of our EP in the summer of 2023. The song describes the wistful walk of two people making their way through a gallery, coming out with entirely different perspectives.”Stuffed Animals
Based in Edinburgh, Scotland and originally from a small town near Dundee, Stuffed Animals are the project of brothers Jamie and Russell Goldie and Lewis McClure. Their music falls somewhere in between indie and midwestern rock, but they weave in and out of different genres. “Plain Air” is their first release of 2024 with more planned throughout the year.
