On This Day…1965

The Beatles released “Yesterday” as a 7″ Single in the US. The B-Side of the record was “Act Naturally” which featured Ringo Starr on vocals. It went on to reach Number 1 in the US Charts and stayed there for four weeks.
Instantly recognizable, it was written by Paul McCartney who sings and plays guitar but does not feature any other band members; a string quartet are the only other musicians involved.
