Orchard Drive EP – Pacifica

The much-anticipated debut EP from Welsh indie rockers Pacifica was released last Friday and does not disappoint. Featuring three new tracks, ‘Orchard Drive’ is the first recorded material the band have shared with the world following a string of successful dates at local venues. ‘Rock and Roll Talking (which featured on this week’s playlist), the title track and ‘Living In A Lonely Place’ are cracking indie-rock songs that are a great introduction to a band that are definitely ones to watch this year.

Lead singer Sam said “Our EP is just the beginning – we wanted to write anthem songs that weren’t gloomy, depressing and sombre but filled with a youthful hope and energy. We want to get people on their feet dancing and saying ‘You know what, things aren’t all that bad’”

Pacifica are Sam Hill, (lead vocals and guitar) Toby Evans (drums, backing vocals) and Tom Gould (bass), three friends who met through attending the same school together. ‘Orchard Drive’ is the band’s debut music release, having recorded the three-track EP over several days in January 2022 at King’s Road Studios, where the process was overseen by Andrew Sanders. The band recently secured their biggest gig to date which will see them support fellow indie rockers The Rivers at The Moon club on 4th May.
